WNBA looking into Storm after Jewell Loyd files complaint

SEATTLE — The WNBA is looking into a complaint from Jewell Loyd who alleged that a Storm assistant coach cursed at her during a game this season, according to league sources who were not authorized to speak to the media.
It’s unclear when the alleged incident occurred, and the complaint is believed to have been lodged by the former Storm star, a different league source said.
The Storm throttled Las Vegas, 102-82, on May 25 and the Aces won, 75-70, last Sunday. Both games were held at Climate Pledge Arena.
In the offseason, Loyd accused Storm coach Noelle Quinn and her staff of bullying and harassment.
The team hired an independent investigator who, according to the team, didn’t find evidence to support the claim, which prompted a trade request by Loyd. The Storm sent her to Las Vegas as part of a blockbuster three-team trade involving former Washington Huskies standout Kelsey Plum.
The Storm directed requests for comment to the WNBA, which declined to comment. Requests for comments from Loyd’s representation were not immediately returned.
The next meeting between the Western Conference rivals is June 20 in Las Vegas. The Aces will also host their final regular-season matchup on Aug. 8.
