Miami Real Housewife Lisa Hochstein turns self in for spying charge
Published in Entertainment News
“Real Housewives of Miami” star Lisa Hochstein has surrendered to authorities in connection with the felony charge for allegedly using a “listening device” in 2023 to spy on her ex-husband, celebrity plastic surgeon Lenny Hochstein.
The Bravo star, 43, said she “has nothing to hide” despite her voluntary surrender, which was part of a prearranged agreement in the wake of this week’s charge, her lawyer Jayne Weintraub told TMZ Wednesday.
Lisa on Monday was charged with one count of interception of wire, oral, or electronic communications, according to legal documents previously obtained by the outlet. Her ex-boyfriend Jody Glidden was taken into custody on the same charge a day prior, though he’s since been released on $5,000 bond and entered a not guilty plea, according to court records viewed by People.
Authorities claim she “unlawfully and intentionally” tried or succeeding in intercepting “oral statements by Leonard Hochstein and those Leonard Hochstein spoke with” in March 2023. Glidden’s charge also stems from allegedly trying to intercept statements made by Lenny.
Two months after that alleged incident, news began to circulate that Lisa had, according to her ex, planted a “listening device” in his car.
That was a year after Lenny filed for divorce in May 2022, ending the couple’s 12-year marriage due to “irreconcilable differences.” A representative for Lisa told People at the time she’d been “blindsided.”
Though Lenny was newly seeing model Katharina Mazepa, he told People “nothing happened between” them until he let Lisa his intentions to end their marriage.
Mazepa filed a restraining order against Lisa that November, which was dismissed the following month.
She said on “Watch What Happens Live” at the time that she and Lenny “barely” spoke anymore, unless it was about their son Logan, now 10, or daughter Elle, now 6.
During her appearance, Lisa said she was “devastated, shocked” by a recent hot mic moment on “RHOM” — during which Lenny tells a friend, “In a couple months, I might be single too” — which “confirmed some suspicions” for her. Their divorce was finalized in late 2024.
