Courtney Love teases a Hole reunion tour
Published in Entertainment News
Courtney Love and Melissa Auf der Maur are hinting that their grunge band Hole is going to reunite.
Auf der Maur posted several short clips featuring Hole songs playing while she strikes a series of poses.
Love posted those videos to her Instagram account and wrote: “So do we tell the kids about the tour?”
Auf der Maur responded: “It starts with eternal love.”
Hole fans quickly weighed in on cities where the tour should begin.
The band churned out a string of hits between 1989 and their 2002 split, including “Doll Part,” “Miss World,” and “Malibu.” The group consisted of several lineups with Love and guitarist Eric Erlandson being the two constants. Auf der Maur joined Hole in 1994 and stuck around for about five years. Percussionist Patty Schemel also spent a considerable amount of time on drums.
Love reformed Hole in 2009. Auf der Maur briefly played with her old band again in 2012. The 61-year-old singer hinted to the Guardian in 2019 that a Hole reunion was being discussed, but the band remained dormant.
Erlandson complicated talk of a reunion by posting a photo of him with Love and Auf der Maur — and an “X” covering his face
“Never let the truth get in the way of a good story,” he captioned that photo. “X marks the spot.”
Love and Auf der Maur gave no indication of when and where a 2026 tour might happen.
