“American Idol” is voting yes to a new format as the long-time singing competition moves to Disney+.

The Ryan Seacrest-hosted show, currently in its 24th season, will stream live on the platform beginning March 30, while simultaneously airing live on local ABC stations, Variety reports.

The move comes amid a high note for the Emmy-winning series, which debuted on Fox back in 2002, before moving to Disney-owned ABC in 2018, and last week enjoyed its most-watched premiere since 2022.

ABC said the Jan. 26 premiere of the show — these days judged by fourth season winner Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie — “drove more video views than any other premiere episode in the 2025-2026 TV season.”

That premiere also marked the first since the fatal shootings of “Idol” music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca, both 70, at their Los Angeles estate last July. Raymond Boodarian, 22, was promptly arrested and charged in the slayings.

Kaye — who was credited on 288 episodes of the show, from 2002 to 2023 — was honored during last week’s premiere, with a graphic that dedicated the season to Kaye: “We’ll save you a seat.”
