NEW YORK — A decomposing body was discovered inside a Tesla registered to Queens-born singer D4vd, days after it was impounded at a tow yard in Hollywood, according to reports.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were called Monday afternoon to North Mansfield Avenue to investigate a foul smell coming from a recently towed Tesla, ABC 7 reported. When they arrived on the scene around 12:30 p.m., authorities discovered human remains in a plastic bag left in the trunk of the electric vehicle with Texas license plates.

According to Fox 11, the car was towed to the lot from the Hollywood Hills last week after someone called it in as missing. Investigators believe the body had been in the trunk about five days before it was moved.

No information about the person inside the Tesla, including a cause of death, has been provided. Cops said the remains were not intact when they were discovered.

Police confirmed to TMZ that the car is registered to singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. His attorneys said he is fully cooperating with investigation.

The 20-year-old performer was born in Queens, where he lived until the age of 13, at which time his family moved to Houston. He initially shot to fame on YouTube, but pivoted to making his own music — a blend of indie, rock and R&B — to avoid getting flagged for copyright violations on his videos. Then, in 2022, he released singles “Here with Me” and “Romantic Homicide,” both of which became viral hits on TikTok.

He went on to sign with Darkroom and Interscope Records, through which he released his full-length debut album, “Withered” in April 2025.

In a post shared to Instagram on Monday — the same day the body was discovered in his Tesla — D4vd promoted “Withered Deluxe: Marcescence,” which is out on Sept. 19.

“Every song written exclusively by me on my phone baby, this is a passion project i put together to make sure i didn’t lose the raw emotional weight my music carries and how much it means to u all,” he wrote in the post, on which comments have since been limited. He has not spoken publicly since.

D4vd is supposed to take the stage Tuesday night in Minneapolis as part of his “Withered” world tour, which kicked off last month.

The tour is scheduled to stop in Los Angeles on Sept. 20.
